What to Know

Critics Consensus

A survival thriller largely bereft of thrills, Centigrade may leave audiences feeling just as hopelessly trapped as the main characters.

Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle If only the audience was as trapped as Matt and Naomi, maybe their indecision would count for more. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 4, 2020 Full Review Robert Daniels Polygon A creatively crafted claustrophobic study of a fractured marriage. Aug 31, 2020 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Neither tense nor thematically resonant enough to overcome its literally small-scale aspects, Centigrade proves as much an ordeal for its viewers as its characters. Aug 28, 2020 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut Centigrade is a lukewarm attempt at chilling true story. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 2, 2022 Full Review Cody Dericks Next Best Picture Sure, it may get a bit repetitive after a while, but the moments of total tension are unyielding and appropriately unbearable. Rated: 6/10 Jul 5, 2022 Full Review Selina Lee In Review Online [Walsh] captures the terror of the situation as well as the tedium, each drop of water falling with the relentless rhythm of a metronome, counting down towards nothing. Tomato S if you like watching people giving birth in a car go ahead buddy could had dug out no problem Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/02/24 Full Review Karl A I've never seen such a boring film, I wasted my time. A million-dollar budget for two characters trapped in a car in the snow, who do nothing to get out. There, I've saved you an 1h30 of your life. Move on... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Brianna B This movie is awful. So a couple wakes up in their car and they realize they are buried in snow. So, what do they do? They wait DAYS before even attempting to start tunneling out. The guy is 100% against tunneling out because he's like "do you know what's out there", yes, he says that at least twice in this movie, as if there are murderous, psycho zombie shrimp out there. But, the good news is, that guy dies, hooray! Also, it is so clearly obvious they are not buried in snow, because there is light coming from all around and in closeups you can tell if they break the window, they'd be able to stick their hand out. It is very frustrating to see that throughout the entire movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Nick As he didn't die and they both got out, that's good at least, I take it there was no baby either, so much for a true story, it looks like the only true thing about was the snow. There was no need to have all that baby crying, and from me for watching it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Emmy By far the worst movie. Digging yourself out of an inch of snow, and inch from the road a month after you were in a car. The stupidity it unbelievable, why haven't they tried the ignition? Or trying to get to the fuel? Please do not waste your time Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Taz W If you want to watch a woman be overly emotional and as a result make bad decisions in an emergency and then spend the rest of the film putting up with a baby crying, this is the film for you.
