Russ Was about a half hour into this muddled mess so I came to R/T to see if it was worth another hour. I see from the audience ratings that I won't be missing much, apart from Leslie Caron in a late career non-dancing role. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Very poor from every perspective. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Not great. Confusing. All the bad guys looked alike. Hard to follow story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I was prepared to really enjoy this one and I have to say that I was a bit let down, as it felt very average and workmanlike as far as the average murder mystery goes. I would be curious to see if it grows on me at all upon a re-watch, but after that initial impression I have no idea when that might happen. Rental? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member even the always awesome warren oates can't save this mess Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Those in The Know are well aware of Warren Oates, but they might not be aware of this forgotten 70s gem that sees Oates as a P.I. hired to follow Leslie Caron's mystery woman. Of course, it's not so simple. Sure, the puppet-master exposition bits are a little tedious and some character reactions might leave you scratching your head, but Chandler sparks with sudden bursts of hardboiled brilliance and there are one or two bits of violence that knocked me off my socks. Plus, nobody portrays tired and angry quite like Warren Oates. He's beat, he's sick of it all, and he's gonna knock yer teeth in cuz he's got no idea what else to do. VF.
