In the near future, a mechanized police force patrols the streets and deals with lawbreakers -- but now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid is stolen and given new programming, he acquires the ability to feel and think for himself. While the robot, dubbed "Chappie (Sharlto Copley)," puzzles out human behavior, the authorities begin to see him as a danger to mankind and order; they will stop at nothing to ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind.

Great film, a bit strange having some rappers as main characters, but this movie does have re-watch ability every three to five years. If you like robots, humor, and good action scenes, this is a good pick.

I was a little surprised at how low this movie was rated as i think it wasn't quite as bad as most some of the other reviewers say. However i do think Sigourney Weaver/Hugh Jackman characters were probably the weakest part of the movie as they aren't as strong/interesting as the others. At least for me personally the ending was satisfying enough that i can say the movie is very much worth watching and i was very happy i watched the movie overall.

A bit disappointing next to DISTRICT 9 or ELISYUM… Not at all a bad movie, far from it but great expectations can lead to some disappointment. Brilliant at some moments, interesting at a time when Transhumanism is a thing of the future, supposedly…. Very good actors, even if I didn’t really get along with the main couple who are super famous in South Africa. It’s worth seeing it anyway. Try for yourselves

This transhumanist morality tale is riddled with plot holes. Some interesting and disturbing themes explored but it just seemed a bit uneven and overly ambitious whilst also being strangely dumb. Watched on DVD.
