Catherine Brown FILMINK (Australia) Although Chemical Peel's shoestring budget is painfully apparent throughout, the film's sub-par production values are in fact the least of its problems. Mar 19, 2015 Full Review Matt Donato We Got This Covered Chemical Peel could have used a dip in an acid vat to burn off some of the superfluous filler material that gunks up the film's inner workings. Rachel A Very bland and slow. fast forwarded many parts just to get through. Not worth the watch. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review Audience Member It was a good fucking movie I liked how the movie progressed it was very satisfying at the end though it's very very gruesome so it's not for the faint of heart or stomach for that matter but despite the rating I loved this movie the drama mixed with gruesome horror was perfect blend at least in my opinion. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The majority of Chemical Peel's set is in one house. A group of girls with a grim history, involving a car accident depicted in the opening credits, are gathering for a weekend party in a secluded house in the woods. The girls all seem to have some extreme and diverse personalities including the shy one (who becomes a weird zombie), the rebel (who becomes rather irrational), the nice girl (who's the only sane one), the overbearing mother (who thankfully leaves first), the innocent one (who is killed trying to be helpful), and who I have dubbed Crazy Eyes the sociopath. After the first night, they all wake up to a strange fog surrounding the house that is simply difficult to breath in at first, but quickly escalates to skin melting madness. Slowly the fog seeps into the house as it's clearly not air tight, and the girls start to deteriorate mentally and physically without any escape from their fate or explanation as to what's caused the chemical attack. They're just informed to stay inside and wait for help. While a few of the girls try to be constructive and make the situation better, Crazy Eyes constantly shuts everyone down and refused to do anything but bitch, complain, and psychologically attack the others. The actress does a good job and being a heinous bitch, but at times she bursts into fits of overacting. At some point they think the chemical is contagious and take Nyquil for it... I just thought that was funny. It's a pretty neat concept, and with it being a low budget movie it works that they just used a fog machine and one location. Their actions are all rather bizarre but I suppose you can chalk it up to their brains melting. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Chemical peel is a horror movie about four friends that go to this woman's house but someone releases a chemical and then everything outside and inside the home gets infected by the chemicals. B- (2014) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member If you were a fan of 'Right at Your Door' you will enjoy this thriller. Believable and downright scary, it will have you ready to to start prepping for a chemical disaster.
