Audience Member Luminous Emanuelle Beart takes on the decidedly unglamorous role of a young single mom junkie prostitute, interns in one of her best performances. She finds at first refuge and later her path to redemption at what amounts to a theatrical halfway house for former inmates, seeing her own problems for the first time reflected in the parts she plays. Her fellow actors all have their own history of problems as well, providing a constant challenge for the gruff, exasperated director trying to bring out the best in them.
