In 1961, director Robert M. Young probed into the lives of an impoverished Sicilian family in his documentary "Cortile Cascino." Three decades later, Young's son, Andrew, revisits the same slums in Palermo, Sicily, to follow up on the story of matriarch Angela Capra and her descendants. Combining footage from the previous film with present-day interviews with Capra, Young documents the grim fate of three generations of a family lost in a cycle of poverty and hopelessness.
