Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Characters need to be more than vehicles for making a point, and a genuinely heartfelt tone is only partial compensation for an inability to convey the complexity of ideas. Audience Member Such a groundbreaking movie with a tragic ending! Watch the deleted scenes: it pieces together the story! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/13/19 Full Review Audience Member The scenery of the Bahamas is such a beautiful distraction to be honest, and you just mentally travel, even for a little. The plot is quite typical, but I loved that everyone was a poc, well except the protagonist. But lets not be too harsh, everyone else was.The script is typical but there was this freshness because of the cast and because of the scenery. The acting was partly nice, partly mildly okay, but mostly satisfying. My only huge issue is the ending.I'm sick and tired of the classic cliche ending of the genre! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Set in the Bahamas amid an anti-gay crusade by the local church, this first-love story is beyond tragic with no real story arc. Shit happens. More shit happens. Worse shit happens. Awful ending. The cast ranges from the overacted to the underplayed. Not much lies between. The story has too many threads, all unhappy. For a love story set in the Bahamas, it left me rather cold. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member La historia es la misma que otra, lo diferente es el contexto, el escenario, la gente. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting look at life in the Bahamas Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Teared up at the end. Made me so sad and pissed off. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
