Just watched this and it's frightening that only 19 years after it's release the message portrayed is becoming a distinct possibility. The violence and "rebellion" visualised by this film is now actually been enacted in cities round the world. The film therefore has more impact now, as real life has caught up with fiction.

Incredible dystopian world building! It's amazing how can all of those metaphors be compressed into 1h49m? Besides there are scenes I personally found interesting. Like Theo be a god of car door, kitten climbing up along his leg (how heartmelting), and at the exit of checkpoint is so realistic, reminds me of old train stations.
