Only in the highly orchestrated, surprisingly gory climax, wherein Chucky's plastic form takes on the sins of the flesh, is there a spark of originality. Go to Full Review

An inevitable sequel that's not as good as its progenitor, but better than most movies with the numbers 2 through 8 in their titles. Go to Full Review

The film is surprisingly well-shot with all kinds of strange angles and unsettling spaces, notably the toy factory where the climactic showdown takes place. Go to Full Review

Mancini has big things to say about capitalism aimed at kids, though they don't always come across as well as in other portions of the franchise. Go to Full Review

In embracing its identity as a tacky horror movie, and totally scrapping the murder mystery angle that made the original so wobbly, it manages to be a darn sight more fun to watch. Go to Full Review

Too much effort went towards giving Chucky life in this film, while other things like the writing, acting, and direction were left for dead. Go to Full Review

Maksim S Nov 28 Child’s Play 2 builds on the original’s concept with more mayhem, gore, and darkly humorous moments, though it doesn’t quite capture the same fresh terror. Chucky remains a delightfully menacing presence, blending twisted charm with relentless violence, and the practical effects continue to impress. While the plot is straightforward and occasionally predictable, the sequel delivers plenty of inventive kills and tense sequences that will satisfy fans of the first film. The focus on action over suspense slightly reduces the psychological tension, but the movie retains enough personality and fright to entertain. Not as groundbreaking as the original, yet still a fun, gory, and chilling continuation—solid 3.5/5 for horror fans. See more John B. @rjcartoonist69 Nov 12 While not feeling as groundbreaking as the original, it’s still got it’s scares, thrills & it all comes to a close with an exciting yet terrifying climax! Alex Vincent once again gives a convincing performance as lil’ Andy & a sassy, fresh new face in the form of Kyle played terrifically by Christine Elise! See more Caleb W Oct 31 This Movie is Masterpiece See more e6e6e e Oct 27 A predictable but enjoyable sequel with more Chucky mischief and scares, though it lacks the originality and charm of the first film See more Julian C. @juliancooper_12 Oct 27 This movie is better than the original. Alex Vincent is a better actor and final boy as Andy. Brad Dourif is funnier as Chucky and the kills are more brutal. The third act is one of the best in all of slasher movie cinema. This movie is my favorite in the franchise See more Ryan H @RyGuy Oct 23 A rebuilt Chucky is looking to take over Andy's body, bringing the fight to Andy's foster home and the Good Guys factory. This is just another one of those people making dumb decisions to build suspense type movies, but Chucky's dialogue is hilarious. See more Read all reviews
