Audience Member Ca y'est Vincent je l'ai vu !!! Interessant pour la relation avec A Chinese Ghost Story, mais bon le film a plutôt mal vieillit... Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Remade in 1987 as "A Chinese Ghost Story", this 1959 movie directed by Li Han Hsiang is in my opinion one of the best films ever produced by Shaw Brothers. It is hard to believe how classical and restrained the direction is when you have seen some of Li Han Hsiang's later movies of the 1970s: the feel is more that of a King Hu film- much more subtle and sedate, and with none of the cheap effects and kung fu antics of its remake. And it also has one of the best supernatural atmospheres I have seen in a hong kong movie. I liked it even better than King Hu's own "Painted Skin".
