Anita Gates New York Times Chooch is really just an outline for a movie. Rated: 1/5 Aug 30, 2004 Full Review Lou Lumenick New York Post The sort of vanity project that gives amateurs a bad name. Rated: 0/4 Aug 27, 2004 Full Review Jack Mathews New York Daily News It's an earnest affair that looks like a neighborhood project on film (16-mm, in fact, blown up to 35) for someone's anniversary or birthday party. Rated: 1/4 Aug 26, 2004 Full Review Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com An absolute chore to sit through, unless you happen to come from the same block as the filmmakers, in which case you might produce a few charitable chuckles, just to be nice. Rated: 2/5 Sep 4, 2005 Full Review Ken Fox TV Guide [A] contrived but pleasant enough comedy. Rated: 2/5 Oct 6, 2004 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Utter badness! And yes, I own it. But I swear we only bought it because of the donkey on the cover. I mean, I like ignorant humor as much as the next guy, but this is definitely pushing it! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Now, in terms of a "good work of film," Chooch fails in about every single category imaginable. The plot feels like a bunch of scenes from someone's home video collection strung together with little to no thought. The dialogue is ridiculous. The characters are stereotypical and absurd (save the Mayor...he's just absurd). The protagonist is utterly dislikable and burro on the cover is in the movie for 2, maybe 3 minutes. The ending is horrically forced, and Mexicans are portrayed as lazy, moronic pieces of shit throughout the whole film. And it is all of these reasons that make Chooch one of the, if not THE, most unintentionally entertaining thing I have ever watched, right up there with Teen Witch and Matrix III. The Mayor is THE greatest character in any movie. Period. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member The film is too personalized to really be effective, a lot of the film would be alien to someone who didn't know these people or their neighborhood. On the plus side, it is a short eighty minutes, and the acting isn't bad at all. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member stupid watched a little of it Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member My dad helped make this movie! Tee Hee!
