Jessica Kiang The Playlist Observing a finely-wrought filigree of despair, "Chorus" is remarkably effective at making you feel something you already know to be true. Rated: B Feb 17, 2015 Full Review Justine Smith Vague Visages As their loss has become a defining point of their identity, so does their isolation. They may still be capable of love, but love no longer has the power to sustain their survival. Nov 21, 2023 Full Review Ed Frankl CineVue A festering beauty of a film slowly reveals itself in this bleak but uplifting black-and-white study of grief from Quebeçois director François Delisle, an acutely aware portrait of a relationship after the unimaginable. Rated: 4/5 Apr 4, 2019 Full Review John Esther UR Chicago Magazine A gritty, emotionally honest (and draining) film about coming to grips with the horrors life can throw at you at any given moment. Jul 18, 2015 Full Review T'Cha Dunlevy Montreal Gazette It's a delicate balance. The mood is heavy and could easily tip to the side of melodrama, but Delisle keeps his cool by keeping emotional breakdowns to a minimum. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 6, 2015 Full Review Rob Thomas Madison Movie It's a long, dark road to that catharsis, but it's worth the journey to get there. I won't easily forget "Chorus" - its currents run too deep. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 28, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Cruel, disturbing, but beautiful. Near the end I was beginning to feel something good: unfortunately the choice of music on the ending, some contemporary electronic stuff with a terrible singer singing in his throat mostly out of tuen, was so terrible that I wanted to leave the theater: and I was not the only one, the comments on this music came from many. It is a pity, that the thing I remember best of this movie is this horrible noise, really a pity, because the film deserves much, much more. I really wanted to give 5 stars here, but the more I think to that noise, the less I want to give: so better if I stop here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Smooth directing, a good attempt at screening a couple's life after their son's death Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Il y a de ce cinéma à la fois tendre dans le traitement et dur dans le sujet. François Delisle navigue dans ces eaux. Le cinéaste ne fait rien comme les autres et c'est tant mieux. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Fuck, I was too tired. Could tell it was something special, though. And goddamn was it visually (and tonally) beautiful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
