Vinson Cunningham New Yorker For all of Rock's fealty to hard fact and the disenchantments of experience, "Tamborine" is most exciting, and most unlike anything he's done before, when he gropes toward transformation. Dec 27, 2018 Full Review Ashley Hoffman TIME Magazine [Rock's] willingness to derail the laughs shows a newfound vulnerability-all before he brings the act safely back to a funny zone. Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Alison Herman The Ringer Rock has thus made his most personal special without ever getting that personal - a testament to his talents, not a criticism of them. Feb 14, 2018 Full Review Alci Rengifo Entertainment Voice Chris Rock returns to us with things to say and share, with humor that serves as a nice respite as we ourselves march on and endure. Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Sean L. McCarthy Decider Rock now recognizes the importance of learning life lessons and accepting cold hard truths about himself... That's something some of his peers and those who look up to him in comedy would be wise to listen to and heed. Feb 20, 2018 Full Review David Bianculli TV Worth Watching Rock, in every TV special he's ever released, manages to touch on a topic in a way, and with a fervor and intelligence, I end up remembering long afterward. Doug J Have always loved Chris Rock. This is so full of hate speech, it was disturbing. ..."Teaching his kids to hate all things white." "Call for more white mothers crying for their murdered children... " He used to be high intellect, genuinely funny, insightful, genius. Something has gone wrong with him deep inside. This kind of blatant call for hatred by anyone of any race should cause outrage and be shunned by everyone. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprised By How Unfunny This Was. Felt More Like Group Therapy Than A Comic Giving You Laughs. Eddie Murphy Did The Family Separation Thing Better. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member There was a time when Rock could make me laugh. Hell, he could make me laugh a lot. But I sat there, and watched a man so full of racial animus that I did not understand if this was comedy or a racist tirade. He had a few funny quips, but the rest? Full of legit bitterness towards white people for something that 99.9% of the world cannot control. Far from funny, it was sad. I actively felt sad watching this. Stay away. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Wtf was this? I didn't really find it funny at all and had a hard time finishing it bc it was so boring and cringe at the same time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member I love it, very valuable material, a must watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely funny, and intelligent jokes. The people who were offended by his white jokes take themselves way to seriously. He's making jokes about his experience, and the way he sees the world, but people are mad because it doesn't match their experience. Yes I'm white, no I wasn't offended. I think if you were offended you most likely are the kind of person he's joking about. Great job to Chris Rock. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
