If Rowena's attitude had shifted earlier in the repeating Groundhog Day-esque plot of this Disney Channel movie, this movie could have had the potential to be a Christmas classic. Go to Full Review

Rihannna H. 1d I actually think this is decently good, it’s a nice fun Christmas movie See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Nov 30 Andy Fickman’s Christmas…Again? arrives with the kind of premise that should radiate charm, holiday warmth, and inventive family-friendly fun. On the surface, it certainly tries—shimmering lights, festive atmosphere, and the recognizable structure of a magical Christmas adventure. But instead of embracing the creative potential of its concept, the film leans heavily into a streaming-era simplicity that makes it feel smaller and flatter than it should. What begins as a promising seasonal romp quickly settles into a made-for-algorithm experience that doesn’t fully capture the spirit it reaches for. The movie has all the ingredients for a wholesome Christmas tale, yet the execution consistently undercuts its own intentions. The production carries the unmistakable feel of low-budget streaming content, where scenes appear functional rather than cinematic. Moments that should feel heartfelt or whimsical instead come across as forced, and that lack of emotional layering prevents the story from building genuine momentum. It’s the kind of film that looks festive enough but can’t summon the soul necessary to become a holiday favorite. Much of this struggle comes down to the screenplay, which is noticeably undercooked. Instead of leaning into cleverness, warmth, or character-driven storytelling, it relies on broad strokes and predictable beats without shaping them into anything memorable. The script needed major refinement—far beyond a light polish—to bring depth to the characters, meaning to the message, or originality to a familiar premise. As a result, the narrative feels like it’s constantly searching for a spark it never finds. Even so, Christmas…Again? isn’t wholly unwatchable. There are scattered moments that hint at what the film could have been with tighter writing and a stronger creative vision. It never reaches the level of being offensively bad or aggressively incompetent, but it hovers dangerously close to that threshold. It lands in the unfortunate middle space where it’s not terrible enough to rant about, yet not good enough to recommend—simply a film that exists. Its greatest flaw, however, is its forgettability. This is the type of holiday title that blends into the endless landscape of seasonal streaming releases, the kind you watch once, shrug at, and never think about again. When the next December rolls around, you may see the thumbnail appear in the holiday carousel and vaguely recall watching it the year before—followed by the inevitable instinct to scroll past it and find something more engaging. In the end, Christmas…Again? had the potential to be a sweet and meaningful addition to the holiday genre but never musters the energy or imagination to make an impact. It’s a harmless seasonal distraction, but not one that earns a place in the yearly rotation. Viewers looking for comfort, spirit, or memorable Christmas storytelling will likely move on quickly—and perhaps forget the film just as swiftly as the credits roll.
