C M This is absolutely awful, it feels like it's been written by AI. The acting wasn't *bad* per day, they did what they could. But some of the accents were TRULY awful. This was a bad Christmas movie. The worst. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Ann G So bad in every way, terrible script, wooden characters schmaltzy plot. An ignorant representation of England with Scottish accents and bagpipes, Supposed to be Christmas but trees in full leaf and summer flowers everywhere. Impossible plot as in no way would a modern hotel be permitted on the site of this manor house with or without a Norman arch. Must be directed at an American audience but I dont believe even the most naive of these would think this rubbish an accurate picture of the UK Nothin to redeem it Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Me M This film is offensive to Brits everywhere. The accents are terrible. I cannot tell if it is meant to be set in England, Scotland or Ireland! The main character is insipid and devoid of any sort of personality, and the supporting characters are farcical. I love a cheesy Christmas movie..... but not this one! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/11/24 Full Review Gillian P Apart from the dreadful Scottish accent, I gave up when I realised it was filmed in the summer with all greenery on the trees despite being supposedly set just before Xmas. The icing on the cake is when she asks about an outdoor flower and is told it’s a snowdrop, which also don’t flower before Christmas, but at least flower in the late winter. The flower she spots is an Aquilegia that typically flower in June in the UK. The flowers don’t even look similar! You don’t necessarily expect the best with Christmas films but with so many huge errors it became unbearable …. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Wiltshire O I love Christmas films even if they are a bit cheesy - may have given this a 4 star had it not been for the terrible Scottish accent, I live in Scotland and the accent made me cringe. I think Susan Calman would have played the part of Jackie well (she is Scottish and funny in a quirky way) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review Greg H Couldn't make it past 20 minutes, and then ended up with it on for a further 30 later. Possibly the worst Scottish accent ever, clichéd view of English, phrasing and how it is spoken. Evidently no-one from the writer to the director and the cast has ever been to the UK, or they kept their mouth shut and took the easy money.
