Joel H I initially was going to say that A Christmas Carol: Scrooge's Ghostly Tale probably looked pretty good when it was released, but then I realized that this computer-animated film came out in 2006. Here's a few other CGI movies that came out BEFORE this one: Toy Story 1 & 2, A Bug's Life, Shrek 1 & 2, Monsters, Inc., Ice Age, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, The Polar Express, Robots, Madagascar, Chicken Little, Hoodwinked!, Cars, Monster House, and Open Season—all of which look MUCH better than this movie. Honestly, it's not a bad adaptation for children, it's just hard to get past the look of it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Audience Member On the back of this dvd, it say this film has state of the art CGI, and they mean it. Even though my mom says this film is "boring", let me tell you it's the best 4 in 1 dvd set from big lots I've ever owned (it's the only one) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member poor animation. just lame in general. didn't last 5 minutes Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Charles Dickens' classic holiday tale comes to sparkling life once again with this glorious animated version. Featuring the voices of Simon Callow, Kate Winslet, and Nicolas Cage, CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE MOVIE tells the unforgettable story of the meager Bob Cratchit and his cranky boss, Ebenezer Scrooge, who learns to become passionate and caring after he's visited on Christmas Eve by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. I've never seen this version of A Christmas Carol before. Great voice acting and a slightly different version from all the others I've seen before. This one focuses more on the long lost love of Scrooge's, Belle, played by Kate Winslet. Also, a couple mice feature prominantly in the film. Interestingly enough, Kate also did the singing for the song based on her charactor for the movie. Unfortunately the animation falls a bit flat, looks made for tv quality. But it's a good film for the holiday season. A Christmas Carol (2006) In this computer-animated adaptation of Charles Dickens's classic tale, animals take on the roles of Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. The warmth and charm run high in this colorful, kids-oriented version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. This is yet another animated version of the classic. It's the newest one that came out this year. Here Scrooge is portrayed by a skunk and all the charactors are a variety of different animals. It's a very scaled down version of the story & the animation is mediocre. It's obviously tailored for kids. For some reason no pictures seem to be available for this one. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
