Ken R Christmas Child – What Answers Are There To A Mysterious Past? A good friend bought me this film on DVD, it was not one I had known but watched out of curiosity, turning out to be quite a surprise. It didn't particularly sound like much but with a story by prolific writer Max Lucado thought it might have something to offer. Then there was the Director William Ewing, a big production directorial honcho at Sony Pictures with a string of massive hits under his name. Ewing, gave up the fame and fortune to start his own not-for-profit production company! An admirable move indeed. As soon as this film began the production values were obvious, cinematography by Spanish-born Fernando Arguellies offering highly stylized visuals, fetchingly compiled music score, and strong performances from a varied professional cast - telling the story of an adopted big city journalist searching for a connection to his past history. His search begins with only a mysterious photograph left to him by his departed father. The adapted screenplay may have omitted some details from the original story as there are a couple of odd situations that transpire during his search - these leave some things a little up in the air. But the story was intriguing enough to keep the viewer interested, and apart from the odd bits it was highly entertaining (maybe it needs a second viewing to sort out some fine details, occasionally stories can be like that?). If wanting a rest from the endless comic book superheroes, car chases, and explosions, this thoughtful film is a refreshing contender. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was ok overall, not terribly exciting, but, still entertaining for a Christmas story. Some holes in the story that never get resolved, but, still worth watching Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Heart-warming and encouraging! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A brilliant story from Max Lucado that makes the real meaning of Christmas shine. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a fair, family friendly tale with a bittersweet ending. The acting left a little bit to be desired in places, but it was worth the watch. My favorite part was 4 Runner singing at the Christmas show. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member And Number 6 is a Christmas Child. Don't see many guys reviewing this film, why? Is it a chick flick, I don't think so, Myself I think its a wonderful Family film that can be watch by all. Jack is a reporter who goes to Texas to do a story on a women who just won the lottery, but while there he starts a search for his birth parents, so now sets the scene for the rest of the Christmas Child. Great for this time of the season. 6 down 24 to go, and on my way I have to give this one 5 stars. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
