Maddy Casale Decider While you can expect a certain amount of cheesiness with any Hallmark movie, Christmas Island has enough charm and original touches to make for an entertaining viewing experience this holiday season. Glenn H The plot makes little sense. I usually finish every movie I start just to see the ending. This one I could not finish it was so poor. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Peter K It was a pleasant movie for Christmas Eve . . . well-structured but predictable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/27/24 Full Review SkyRo P I recently watched "Christmas Island," a Hallmark movie that was about to be removed from Netflix, so I decided to give it a try. The story revolves around a flight attendant who finds herself in a tug-of-war with a man at the command center concerning a wealthy family bound for Switzerland, who, due to inclement weather, end up stranded on Christmas Island. What made this viewing experience unique for me was that all the actors were unfamiliar; I didn't recognize a single one of them. This allowed me to immerse myself in the story without any preconceived notions about the cast. I found the film to be incredibly touching and heartwarming. While I wouldn’t say it’s the best movie out there, it certainly stood out with its original storyline and fresh perspective. I did wish for a different ending, one that leaned more into a romantic and impactful conclusion. They tried to capture that essence, but it didn’t quite resonate for me. All in all, I thought "Christmas Island" was a delightful and entertaining film. I genuinely enjoyed watching it and discovering these new actors and actresses, despite my initial reservations. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/25/24 Full Review Tristan S I absolutely adore Andrew Walker and would watch anything he was in. However, this was painful and cringe worthy, and I couldn’t wait until it was finished. The first half of the movie is spent watching characters who are are angry and cranky, and there is no chemistry between the two lead actors. The premise is unbelievable, and the characters are unlikable. The stern-faced mother, the angst-ridden teenage daughter, the distracted father… Poor acting, poorly written, and boring, unbelievable story. Do not waste your time on this movie. There are so many other better ones, and lots of other better ones with Andrew Walker. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Sophia C The female actress is.. she’s really bad.. :( Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/24 Full Review Amy K Suspend everything you know about weather. It can thunderstorm and snow at the same time while flying. What happened to the copilot when they landed? Why didn’t other planes also have to land at this airport? I have so many follow up questions. I’m definitely not the target market for this movie. The premise is typical of this kind of movie but the lead actress is more cut out for Disney shows with her over the top acting and facial expressions.
