This movie is 100 solid minutes of barnyard humor (you bet a baby pig pees in someone's face) and maudlin moments (did I mention that these kids have a dead mom, which is apparently a prerequisite for Christmas movies?). Go to Full Review

The movie soon falls apart in a shrieking, nonsensical mess of manic shouting and unearned grief exploitation. The story feels like chunks are missing. Go to Full Review

To say that this film is an awful piece Netflix should have never greenlit would be an understatement. Go to Full Review

Helen S @Nerllybird 1d This starts with a father of five preparing five different breakfasts whilst simultaneously making packed lunches. Later he complains to his boss, that he can't actually do his job because he has 'kids to look after.'  But wait! Suddenly he inherits a working farm from the father he's lost touch with, and off they go. It's not long before the children encounter a funny man in the barn.  It's Mr Poppy! Well, no, it's not. Perhaps it's his slightly camp, hilariously wacky twin. Named Beano. The children LOVE him and Dad finds him exasperating, just like Mr Maddens, the teacher in Nativity! It turns out that the family have found themselves in a parallel dimension, where the children milk and feed the animals in broad daylight, in December, before getting to school at 8am. This film is utterly bonkers in the worst possible way - so ridiculous that it must surely have been written in a few hours under the influence of drink, drugs or the promise of a hefty fee. It's dire. Avoid. See more Eizabeth H @iiloveemiselote Dec 3 Insane from start to finish. I fully expected the dad to have a nervous breakdown. Glad he didn't but the possibility of it happening lingered over the whole film like the titular mistletoe on the whole farm. Good fun film for christmas. Why did the dad fake his death? That's the main feeling that has lingered after watching this. At multiple points I collapsed to the floor, emotionally drained and shaken. This did not negatively impact my enjoyment of this film I'd like to make this clear. It did however make me feel a lot better about the stress in my own life because at least I don't have to nurse 3 baby goats whilst 20 knitted jumper wearing strangers yell at me about being a bad father. So we’ve watched it multiple times over 3 years now and the kids still love it. And, paradoxically it gets better every time we see it. I don’t mind it now and even think it’s kind of cute at times.. My 9 year old niece and my mum both really liked it - they liked the way it was colourized, and they thought it was funny, and they liked the location. I hated it, I thought it was terrible, I hated the way it was colourized, I didn't like the jokes, I thought the location was pretty cool. I just wasn't in the target audience and that's ok! It's funny and pretty fast moving. The kids loved the animals, the bright clothing, and the farm. See more Read all reviews
