Ed Gonzalez City Pages, Minneapolis/St. Paul This Brazilian film has been greeted with the same sort of polite praise that Daughters of the Dust earned years ago from left-leaning critics enamored with purportedly novel modes of expression and exotic representation. May 25, 2006 Full Review Manohla Dargis New York Times The Brazilian film Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures shows how a little imagination and a quality cinematographer can triumph over a poverty of means. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 8, 2006 Full Review Ray Bennett The Hollywood Reporter The film is well worth seeing for its views of the parched wilderness of far-flung Brazil and its talkative depiction of an unlikely friendship. Dec 6, 2005 Full Review Brian Gibson Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta) A road movie about the end of the road, about paths diverging, when travellers' time together can only be brief. Sep 15, 2006 Full Review Donald J. Levit ReelTalk Movie Reviews The two men's personalities, an out-of-the-ordinary setting and time, and camera techniques deftly used bring this quiet piece above the pack. I'd been meaning to watch this movie for quite a while, but I kept postponing it because it didn't really sound that interesting I expected something else: something more boring and pretentious, but instead I got this great experience! Good acting, and a simple (and yet beautiful) story.. I definitely recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member É a sétima arte em seu clássico projeto de observar o universal nascendo do particular. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member a little slow this period piece set in 1942 tells the tale of a german aspirin salesman sent 2 sell aspirins in brazil the result is an interesting movie, nice to look at too. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A low budget masterpiece. Starts as a road movie, accelerating soon with a fake suspense, terminates as a symbolic poem, narrated in plain cinematographic language, full of burnt shots under a violating sun and pure acting. It worths a lot. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
