John DeFore Hollywood Reporter The movie keeps suspense alive, as we try to guess how this all will play out -- building to a final tableau that, silently, says nearly as much about human nature as does all the talk leading up to it. Oct 8, 2015 Full Review Toussaint Egan Polygon If you're aching for some more kill-or-be-killed drama in the vein of Squid Game with a surreal sci-fi bent à la 1997's Cube or Hiroya Oku's Gantz, then Cube is certainly worth a watch. Oct 22, 2021 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Plays out like a tediously long episode of Twilight Zone. Rated: C- Jul 5, 2020 Full Review Jorge Loser Espinof Superficial and easy, it simplifies complex social dilemmas at the elementary level and its study of human cruelty is as apathetic and inefficient as its entertainment value. [Full Review in Spanish] Aug 20, 2019 Full Review Amie Simon Three Imaginary Girls ... spending 87 minutes in one room with the same people seemed like it might be a bit much, but I gotta give props to the filmmakers; it actually seemed just right. Mar 2, 2019 Full Review Jessica Baxter Hammer to Nail There are one or two missteps in the performances. But nearly everything about Circle is deliberate and dense. Jeff M This is one of those rare movies where I'm totally torn about how I feel - I just saw it, so I'm not sure it's fully sunk in. At this very moment, I feel totally 50/50 on it, hence my **1/2 review. It's one of those frustrating occasions when there's really interesting stuff interspersed with less than wonderful qualities. The concept is fascinating - when looking death in the face, would you save yourself at the expense of someone else's life? We are almost too conveniently presented with an array of characters representing different ages, nationalities and orientations which of course leads to lots of discussion regarding prejudice and discrimination. The interchange between the characters ranges from thought-provoking to obvious. Although it clocks in at less than 90 minutes, it tends to feel a bit repetitive after awhile - I could see something like this edited down to an interesting TWILIGHT ZONE episode. The ending is quite ambiguous although not in a satisfying way. Performances range from good to pedestrian. It's a movie I'm glad I watched even though I can't call it a success. This could provoke some interesting discussion afterwards. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Melissa L A great fast paced Sci-fi movie that makes you ask yourself. What would I do? A great social experiment worth watching. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Lucy S The general idea was fine, but the execution was severely lacking. The movie was very fast and confusing making it hard to keep up with what was going on. All the characters were stereotypes and it felt more like a speed run of all the social issues in the US. At least it was good for some laughs from time to time although unintentional and at least the ending was not too predictable. Still wouldn't recommend it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/14/23 Full Review Lilianna P Bad acting and terrible decisions as well as a bad ending but it was entertaining and I like the concept Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/25/23 Full Review unXtazyno funny asf and that's the best part of it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review Diana S All the archetypes represented, an allegory of sociopolitical relations amongst various "boxes" through the ages, punctuated by the effects of the Jim Fenwick Zombie Virus on social media the past 10-15 years. Poorly written, misinformed fiction. Silly. Absurdly simplified, like the virus himself. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
