Audience Member I loved this movie. Its a modern day band of brothers and sisters through the eyes of deployed National Guard Soldiers and Airman. Gripping, heart pounding, and heart breaking at the same time. A must see film. While battling in the most dangerous parts of Afghanistan, these men experience difficult and life-changing circumstances as they sacrifice themselves to protect our beloved country. Never before have I seen such an authentic and genuine military documentary that accurately captures what it's actually like to be on the front lines. Using helmet-cameras to document their experiences in Afghanistan, these men provide the audience with a realistic and raw view into the harsh realities of war. After watching this moving film, I was left with a deeper appreciation and greater respect for the men and women who battle to guard the United States and its citizens. The startling gunshots and harsh conditions of their battles in Afghanistan gave the audience a greater perspective and insight into the difficult lives of military personnel. Their courage and bravery displayed while deployed oversees was truly amazing, and I thank directors David Salzberg and Christian Tureaud for inviting me into their inspirational and moving documentary that authentically displayed the duties of our armed forces. Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Citizen Soldier follows the Oklahoma Army National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team also known as "Thunderbirds", while spending a 96-day deployment in Afghanistan. What made this film special is that since the soldiers filmed it, audiences are able to see what really goes on while overseas. You see the bond that these men and women form, through the good times and the bad, and how they truly become a band of brothers. I thought this was an amazing movie, and it was really touching seeing how brave and dedicated these soldiers were when it came to serving our country.
