A beautiful, if terrifying, film about the human cost of war. Expertly crafted photography, and sounds design, puncuated by excellent acting. Some might put off by the lack of exposition, or the non-formulaic approach. But rest assured, this film is not only one of the best released in 2024, but of the 2000's. 91/100

This movie should be called “how to be a wartime journalist “. The title is deceiving, this movie basically gave one line to address why their was a civil war and did nothing to flesh that out.

It was a bit of a disappointment. The movie is from a journalists point of view, you dont see much of the civil war from somebodys perspective or someones story. You dont even put yourself in their shoes, you dont feel that feeling that makes you think if it was me From the trailer I thought it was a different movie. Its not worth the money I spent to watch it in the movie theater, probably not even on the couch.

I was looking forward to this given the times we are living in, but man this was awful. Terrible flat acting due to poor dialogue and plot line. Boring sequences of meaningful glances and empty landscapes. No backstory to explain the cause of the civil war. I told myself I'd bolt once my water bottle was empty. The film ended, thankfully, before my last sip. WAIT FOR THIS TO STREAM!!

With about 30 minutes to go, I realized that Garland didn’t have an intelligent resolution on the horizon. The vague “Civil War” simply flops around through White House hallways until its uninteresting ending. The movie's lack of imagination is tedious.
