Garland's decision to forego any narrative antecedent makes the predictable ending that much more of a bummer. Civil War is a more muscular film than Men. Like that movie, however, it mistakes broad brush strokes for insight.

This is another war-is-awful movie, tracing the experiences of a team of photojournalists who throw themselves into the firing line. And even without much of a point, it's rivetingly well-made.

Went into this film with no knowledge besides the good reviews. Left with having had a great film watching experience. This movie stayed in my head for quite some time after, and I think Alex Garland did a phenomenal job of telling the story without sacrificing appeasement to the masses. Props

This is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. It drops you into the middle of events that are not explained, and yet they are so very familiar. It is a visual feast, and that is what movies are all about. Movies are a visual medium. This movie is beautiful from star to finish. This is why I go to the movies. Somebody called it "trite". They are patently wrong.
