Jay W Aug 22 This film faces a difficult task. They are attempting to take 1000 minutes of heartwarming material and condense it into 94 minutes. Understandably some stuff from the show/ visual novel would have to be cut. Frankly, they chose the wrong stuff to cut, and what they chose to cram in feels rushed. The story has serious pacing problems, the first hour focuses on Tomoya and Nagisa meeting and making a play. And then last 30 minutes tries to shotgun everything else at you. Tomoya has very little agency in the story. He has to be dragged along kicking and screaming to make any progress. At that point it doesn't feel like character growth, it just feels like a pawn being pushed to the correct location on the board. It may take longer but stick with series if you want to do these characters and this story justice. See more 12/23/2020 Fucking amazing, especially after story.
