steve d Holt is really talented, but the script is incompetent. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice little indie movie that instantly made me think of Rushmore. While the story isn't the most original or spectacular, the chemistry between the 2 misfit leads and the lovely relationships between the characters helps move Class Rank at a breezy and enjoyable rate. It's not an especially transformational teen comedy, but it is one with a ton of heart that should appeal to almost anyone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was beautiful and told a great story. It shows that it is alright to not be the best, as long as you try, and are happy. Beautifully acted, and shot. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely loved this movie!:) Highly recommend, one of my all time favorites!:) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/19 Full Review Audience Member Horrible plot line... practically every school has a class rank, and you can DEFINITELY be #2 or lower in rank and make it into an Ivy League. They also consider so much more than class rank in college acceptances, so if the ONLY thing holding you back from an acceptance is your relative rank to another student?... something's wrong, and it's not the system. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review karen r Very slow moving, predictable. average acting. NO chemistry between characters and totally unrealistic match-up. I stopped watching 1/2 way thru. Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter A teen comedy with heart. May 10, 2018 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times "Class Rank" is a late bloomer that takes time to find its footing, but once it does, it proves to be as stealthily likable as its characters. May 8, 2018 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk You'll recognise elements of Rushmore's Max Fischer and Election's Tracy Flick in its young hero and heroine, for a start - but Stoltz and writer Benjamin August provide enough quirky individuality to keep things fresh. Rated: 3/5 Apr 7, 2019 Full Review Daniel de Partearroyo Cinemanía (Spain) Gaspar Noé is going to make you dance all night. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Oct 8, 2018 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies If John Hughes had made a version of Election for millenials, the end result would be Class Rank. May 13, 2018 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This could have been just another generic coming-of-age, high school romcom, but it's surprisingly sweet, honest, and lovable; it feels as fresh and bracing as a brand-new John Hughes movie.
