Edward Guthmann San Francisco Chronicle Rated: 3/4 Jun 18, 2002 Full Review Steve Davis Austin Chronicle Rated: 3/5 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times It is a harrowing, exhausting, painful film, and a very good one -- a film that will not appeal to most filmgoers, but will be valued by anyone with a serious interest in schizophrenia or, for that matter, in film. Courtney K oof; perception is everything. in more ways than one. they got me - i was shocked by the ending. a well-done piece on mental illness & how both the sufferer & bystanders perceive it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/21/23 Full Review Audience Member "Hello, Daddy, are you there?" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member As I am plunging more and more into all sorts of superficialities around to the extent that sometimes, I seem to forget myself, this film serves as a strong reminder of clear-eyed morality and judgment. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A haunting picture that I will never forget and my first criterion purchase. Very good acting from the lead and a shocking conclusion. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Enigmatic, visceral study of mental illness. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the few films managed to construct an accurate perception on how schizophreniacs see this world. Winter is a man who recently was removed from psychiatric ward, he went on a quest to find his daughter while dealing with a changed world. It's really powerful yet disturbing. Definite worth watching as it was one of John Waters' favourites. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
