      Audience Member Love horror, and love killer clowns. This was just horrible though. That is I can say. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I found a weird low budget clown movie with the original halloweens own Tony Moran. Tony Moran wants to put down the greatest horror movie ever made where he shows his ugly face in for five seconds and I searched my butt off to find a movie with Moran in it not even starring him he's just in it. The movie is just awful it's about these clowns that keep coming back from the dead at this cemetery right next to the motel and I'm telling you some of these clowns are beyond weird. Some people ended up there and they're stuck and these clowns keep trying to murder them. It doesn't get anything right. The actual Clown Motel in Tonopah, NV has a very interesting backstory. The elements for a great horror film are already built-in to the real life history of the place. But this particular attempt to play on that story was very disappointing. A real missed opportunity here. The casting is NOT GOOD. The girl tourists were OK. The guy tourists were dreadful. I don't personally set the bar very high as far as acting prowess in horror movies, but this was a dismal failure by any standard. Horrible acting. And the clowns. Only like 4 of them seemed to even pretend to give a shit that this was supposed to be filmed for an actual movie. The rest of them seriously looked like juggalos just hanging out at The Gathering. The story made absolutely no sense. I'm not even going to pretend to make sense of it. It doesn't make any sense. There's no sense to be made of any of it. The editing is straight up haphazard. I'm almost certain that several scenes where the clowns were chasing the tourists were straight up re-used 3-4 times. I give it one star because again, the concept is cool. But this movie is not. Steer clear. ** I have always felt that in general, horror movies get cheated by critics/reviewers. If you're a fan of the horror genre as a whole, there's some campy elements that just come with the territory. You may even come to enjoy those idiosyncrasies (I do). In my humble opinion, it's what makes the horror genre so fun. I'm just saying that with the horror genre in general, I'm willing to look past misgivings that I might not be as quick to forgive if it were a drama or a war movie (just an example). When I sit down to watch CLOWN MOTEL, I'm not expecting to have my mind blown the way THE USUAL SUSPECTS or INCEPTION first got me. I'm not looking for rich storytelling or fully-fleshed out characters that practically fall of the screen like THE GODFATHER or GOODFELLAS.
