steve d Hard to even refer to this mess a film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Well... that was a dumpster fire. There's a couple fun gore gags, but otherwise it's a waste of time. And the girl is soo bad, I couldn't help but laugh at her most of the time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/19/20 Full Review Audience Member Make sure you watch the unrated version...gory as hell Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Toolbox Murders 2: a (very) rough cut someone incredibly stupid deemed a finished product. Little more than a demo reel for the Jones' FX shop, much like a demo reel, there's no real narrative structure. Well, there is a structure; it goes like this: scene of torture, intertitle letting us know precisely what day of torture the captive main character is on, scene of torture, intertitle, lather, rinse, repeat. Maybe the odd flashback here and there with no context provided just to confuzzle things further. 1/2 star Coffin Baby: at least watchable? The chronological edit and newly shot footage fix the Toolbox Murders 2 cut as best it likely can be (even if that newly shot footage leads to some idiosyncrasies like Brian Krause's haircut changing from scene to scene and corpses magically disappearing and reappearing in the frame). A new incestuous menage-a-trois subplot leads to a pretty good twist at the end AND there's actually an ending... in that it doesn't simply stop (as in the original cut). It's still a mess, but a more organized mess. 2 stars? Maybe a little generous but they tried to right their wrongs. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member My oh my, am I the first to review this 'gem' for Rotten Tomatoes? I can't believe I'm the first. Erm. Well, I kinda can. I mean, there's not even a movie poster uploaded to RT for this 'movie'. It's that bad. Yeah, let me spoil it for you: this movie is bad. Once seen, it cannot be unseen. The plot is so veil thin that even the CSI can't find it. I want my 95 minutes back now, mr. Dean Jones! I guess this is what you get when you give a makeup artist a budget to go out write and direct on his own. News flash, Dean -- it isn't good. Now I see you've finished production on 'Dark Awakening'. Please know that that's already on my 'avoid'-list. As far as this movie goes, everything's sub-par: the plot, the script, the pacing, the editing, the acting. Yes, oh my, the 'acting' is dreadful here. I was genuinely shocked to see Bruce Dern credited for this pile of utter cr*p, he was nominated for an Oscar this year. I guess someone on the board saw his involvement in Coffin Baby and Bruce could wave bye-bye to his 'actor in a leading role' win. Every word typed on this movie is one too many so I will stop here. Verdict: avoid. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
