The film has a truly compelling story that draws vital attention to the abuse of Indigenous peoples; however, its lack of action and concise dialogue makes it a difficult and slow watch. Go to Full Review

While Cold Road does an effective job of conveying the fear and isolation Tracy endures...Redvers's script often struggles with the limiting nature of the film's setting. Go to Full Review

Writer-director Kelvin Redvers’ terrific update of sorts of Steven Spielberg’s classic Duel uses its far north setting to ramp up the thrills. Go to Full Review

Steve J @stevefnp1 3d I was taken with the acting by Roseanne Supernault -and the sister - given the situation driving alone with only a dog for company. With that in mind its hard to carry off acting. I was very impressed though and liked the way her thoughts engaged life issues while driving. I think a lot of us do it. Its probably one of the harderst things to do to make a plot revolve around one or few people. The dog was a good counter to understand her and what she was going through as was the argumentative sister. The locale was bleak and lonely but dangerous adding to the suspense. The things I found "over the top" imo were the "us and them" parts e.g. the crappy officer and roadhouse people not quite believable and near the end e.g. would the trucker have run off so fast or driven onto thin ice as easily. I understand it is a kind of protest "indigenous and colonialist" movie but if it had included a good white person or couple it might imo been able to convey its message in a less limiting way. It tries, at a few moments almost succeeds, but, um...not a very good movie. And some of the acting is like watching Key & Peele mock a drama. lmfao. See more Read all reviews
