3.5 stars; If you take "The Lighthouse" and add some horrific creatures, you'll have "Cold Skin". If that was all this was, this movie would be boring. But, some fine acting and film location created a creepy environment that made the addition of the creatures more effective. The psychosis of the characters isolated on the Lighthouse island made for an even greater spookyness. This clever combination of horror elements and character depth with human carng raised this movie way above your standard. 'scary' movie. I would also like to add, a beautiful and most appropriate musical score.

The story draws you in from the start. It gets straight into the "monsters," and isn't a jumpy thriller exactly, but a harsh reality of a lonely situation for a lighthouse keeper. It's a bit creepy and disturbing, but it's a good film.

Great theme, ambience and Lovecraftian overtones. I wished it had a little more mystery, secrets and discovery, but it was still for me, no doubt as a fan of this sort of thing, reasonably engaging, although at time pushed the boundaries of suspension of disbelief, so had to play along a little.

Excellent movie. Captures a wide range of human emotions and empathy toward the main characters. Reminds me of Enemy Mine in terms of the humanity within adverse circumstances. Well made and better done than some horror movies with mega budgets.
