By maintaining a clearer focus on the past, 'Cold War 1994' winningly clarifies the filmmakers’ concerns with their industry’s defining stagnation and uncertain future. Go to Full Review

Every character in the Cold War Universe is meticulously cast, down to the background actors. And bullets flying, explosions, and adrenaline-rushed car chases, are skilfully captured by cinematographer Anthony Pun. Go to Full Review

Blanketed by a past/present, warm/cool sheen courtesy of cinematographer Anthony Pun, Cold War 1994 flirts with an opposites-attract romance between Lee and Yuen and a truly spectacular airport set piece re-establishing Leung’s action bona fides. Go to Full Review

Ronald C May 13 Compared to the first 2, this one was way off. See more Paul May 10 Amazing film of human nature and corruption See more Nicole May 9 I really loved this film, and honestly, it was better than I expected. Before watching it, I rewatched the first two films to refresh everything, but in the end I realized that the third one is actually my favorite. It fully delivers everything I want from a Hong Kong crime action film. The first hour alone is already incredibly intense, with action sequences that feel so well-designed and creative you can really see the thought behind every movement. And then the airport fight near the end completely elevates the whole film. It’s genuinely breathtaking and left me holding my breath. Also, I have to mention Terrance Lau, He fits this role so perfectly. Even after I got home, I was still deeply moved by his performance. There’s something about it that just stays with you. See more Patrick L May 9 Middling movie that uses big name stars for brief cameos. Would work better as a limited series for premium television. See more Elaine C @elaine_yr_c May 22 The biggest enemy of any national security has always been its own. Police officer M.B. seeks to rescue the kidnapped member of the prestigious Poon family, but along the way encounters betrayal and subterfuge in all its colours. An ambitious political thriller that captures old Hong Kong under British rule, but falls short from its bloated cast and confusing, flash-back style storytelling. See more Dean Y @RT60727629 May 13 Boring as heck, and had a tough time not falling asleep. Not much action and the pace was very slow. See more Read all reviews
