Warren Scott C. Hard to get past Shatner's over the top in a bad way dramatic acting and terrible fake mustache. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member William Shatner makes his second appearance in the Columbo series in Butterfly in Shades of Grey. To stop his daughter from running off to pursue a writing career, radio talk show host Fielding Chase kills the man who was shopping her book; but Columbo suspects that Chase's alibi may be too perfect. Shatner gives a charismatic performance, and has great interplay with Falk. However, the Chase character is too much of an obvious parody of Rush Limbaugh; which distracts from the plot. Still, the mystery is quite intriguing and has some cleverness to it. Despite its overt political tones, Butterfly in Shades of Grey is a solid crime thriller. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Selv med sitt über-smarte alibi, klarer ikke skurken å forhindre Columbo i å komme til bunns i ting! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm a Columbo addict... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I love Columbo and Shatner's a good baddie. The only thing is that the case is really over within the first 20 minutes. As soon as he establishes that the killer had to have a key and Chase's daughter's one went missing at the exact time of the murder and that everyone else has an alibi, it couldn't be anyone else. But you still have to keep watching to see how the sting is going to happen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member William Shatner is an entertaining choice for a Columbo-villain. It worked well back when he appeared as a murderous actor in the 1970s Columbo and it works well here where he plays a radio-star. Shatner's playful childlike behavior makes for a refreshing change of pace from the darker bad-guys of the show. A fun entry to the series.
