Eric Melin Scene-Stealers.com Charming and agreeable, it moves along at a good clip. Shot in widescreen saturated CinemaScope, ... it's entertaining in a predictable way. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 20, 2011 Full Review Christopher Lloyd Sarasota Herald-Tribune Because he was largely a journeyman filmmaker who took whatever jobs the studio assigned him, most historians and critics regard Michael Curtiz merely as a capable gun-for-hire who was lucky enough to find himself attached to good projects. Rated: 4/5 Jun 13, 2011 Full Review Robert Roten Laramie Movie Scope A good old school western with solid acting, a great musical score, wonderful cinematography and beautiful desert scenery. Rated: B Apr 24, 2009 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Wayne is decent, but this is a compromised Western due to the fact that ailing director Michael Curtiz (it's his last film) has no appreciation for the genre. Rated: B- May 6, 2007 Full Review Steve Crum Dispatch-Tribune Newspapers Interesting, at times brutal, John Wayne western with strong cast and locale. Rated: 4/5 Oct 19, 2006 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Lively and cheerful, but too banal to be a top-rate Curtiz or Wayne film; nevertheless it's a pleasingly entertaining film. Blu B I think I liked it more than the actual underlying quality. This is probably more a 4 star film but as a Curtiz & Wayne fan I think that made me like certain things more than a casual viewer. There is nothing broken here in the slightest. It's not incoherent, no dumb plot, or anything terribly wrong. And also it's very well directed, beautifully shot, and overall well executed with a cohesive and somewhat complicated plot for a Western that works well. Great soundtrack, really good cinematography and you can tell when scenes are done by Curtiz. Even into the 60's he hadn't lost his touch. Solid acting too. Wayne is just doing his thing but it works given the support and script. Marvin is really good and he should've had the buddy role with him. It would've helped ALOT. Whitman has good chemistry with Wayne and does a good job but he just doesn't have the same charisma as him or Marvin. The villian is alright but not really intimidaing. Editing/Pacing is really good. It's a Western adventure mixed with some buddy comedy elements. It doesn't really rely on gags though and has a great underlying adventure and character development which was nice to watch when there wasn't that many thrills. I will say though this has a feeling that I can't shake that runs throughout of this being a "Typical" Golden Era/Wayne Western and by the numbers at times. That being said that doesn't mean it's a bad thing especially as it's well executed overall and as a fan of both it probably allows me to not mind certain things others would notice. It's easy going the entire time and even during the climax there really isn't much in the way of serious tension but also it isn't filled with jokes either. It's just easy going and on the family friendly side. It's not exactly long but it doesn't exactly build either but it's told well at the same time. It doesn't reinvent much but anyone who is a fan of any actors in this, Curtiz, or Westerns should check out. Solid last film for Curtiz to go out on. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/12/24 Full Review William S Hello world! Permit me to discuss how, Cyber Genie Hack Pro team assisted me in getting my forgotten crypto wallet access back. Losing access to my wallet was traumatizing and heartbreaking to my household because it was a joint wallet where I and my partner decided to save for the future instead of using all these ridiculous financial banks in the USA controlled by the Matrix.  Our precious crypto savings were on the verge of vanishing before our very before. If there is one thing I am forever grateful for in 2024 is my encounter with Cyber Genie's team. These guys didn't even let me explain my task fully, how they delved into getting solutions for me to access my crypto wallet back still wows me and my partner. There's no better way to start the new year than with the best tech team ensuring my family's data are safe on the internet.
