Scientist Karen Ross (Laura Linney) is sent by her father-in-law, mogul R.B. Travis (Joe Don Baker), to the Congo to determine the whereabouts of his son's missing diamond-hunting team. This is one of my favorite messiest films ever. Between Tim Curry's unhinged performance, the insane relationship between Amy and Peter, and Laura Linney being a badass, what's not to love about this?? They don't make wild movies like this anymore.

A really stupid plot full of holes, a decent cast and terrible direction. What could go wrong? This movie is a patchwork of scenes, each of which has some element of humour in it. The problem is that as a whole they don't make much sense. It doesn't matter, if you take it for what it is. A B grade movie you can watch with your kids.

As a child this movie terrified me! However If you overlook some of the cheesy plot lines and Tim Curry's accent then its actually a fun movie. Gives off Jurassic park vibes with some sprinkling of Indiana Jones. An awsome movie full of nostalgia. An Underrated 90s classic

I actually liked this movie when I saw it as a kid. So I still have a soft spot for it. Yeah, it's ridiculous in all aspects but I think a remake could do it justice.. With a better director..

In the year 2025, Congo actually aged well considering the over-hyped and politically driven garbage we see getting pumped out today (e.g. A Mine Craft Movie, Disney's Snow White etc.). If Sinners, yet another black power movie, gets a 99% for having Michael Jordan's son star in it with a lead role, then Congo should have a 100% for having Bruce Campell do a cameo.
