Audience Member one of the most sobering and important documentaries i have ever seen. the commercialization of childhood poses some serious ethical issues concerning privacy, health, social engineering and propaganda. the future of children's marketing and how it will alter childhood is frightening indeed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a documentary relative to this day and age. Although the film thoroughly presents the problem of media over-stimulation, the film doesn't really offer solutions to help parents solve the problem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Very informative, interesting, eye-opening. Makes the point that both parents and the government have a role in monitoring and preventing this. Of dozens of industrialized nations, the United States is the only one without legislation restricting the perverse psychological control that marketing toward children has become. This goes way beyond corporate profit; this type of marketing is linked to major health problems, including childhood obesity and its co-morbidities, as well as anxiety and depression, self-esteem issues, bipolar, ADHD, and more. To me it didn't seem to have an overly partisan perspective, though I imagine those who favor deregulation would consider the film to have a liberal agenda. Helps the viewer become more aware of the marketing going on, how it works, why it is harmful, and what can be done to help prevent these harmful effects. Definitely worth watching, if not for educational purposes, then at least to consider what may be oppositional viewpoints, and prevent close-mindedness. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member incredible documentary that highlights things I never even considered... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie called the Bush hailed Baby Einstein mega industry for what it has now proved to be - a scam. We have always valued outside and unstructured play, don't watch TV and discuss advertising claims as a family - we are not the audience that needs to see this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member thanks to LBE for bringing this valuable documentary to my attention... very, very interesting and thought provoking.
