Micky B It's actually a funny movie. Not that much action as you'd expect but really entertaining. I recommend to wach it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/24 Full Review dustin d Contract Killer is better than the average kung fu movie in its fun premise (a yakuza boss set up a fund of $100 million to avenge him in the event of his murder), and cornball humor. The jokes landed and didn't detract from the action as the movie took the premise seriously, even if the audience doesn't have to. The movie's flaws, however, are in the action sequences. I found the action choppy and difficult to follow. Virtually no stunts were fully captured in one shot. Either the shots were cut short to cover up flaws in the stunts, or the editor misguidedly thought short shots=more excitement. In a martial arts film, the stunts should speak for themselves. I'd prefer them to be shot like Fred Astaire's dance scenes: a stationary camera framing the entire body and capturing the movement in a single shot. This might have been a great movie ruined in editing. Also, in the English-dubbed version, some of the actors were clearly English speakers talking with fake Asian accents. I would have preferred a remake with white actors in yellow face. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A better than average Jet Li movie. The right mix of comedy and action. The sappiness can be a bit over the top sometimes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A decent Jet Li movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Acting, Funny Scenes and a Fun Time.
