Audience Member It would have been a lot more enjoyable if it was less conservative and had a bigger budget. Still, it's a decent HK cop comedy with some good looking ladies. Carina Lau stars as the leader of a special department of police officers (all women, obviously) who are targeted by a mad bomber. Ridiculous, breezy entertainment that provides plenty of laughs. Enjoyed every minute of it. Eggy and Professor Bite are classic characters. [b]4.5[/b] [b][u]Ong-bak: The Thai Warrior[/u][/b] (Pinkaew, 2003) [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/thejokers21/ongbak.jpg[/img] Brace yourself for what I'm about to say, cause it's never been said about [i]Ong-bak. [/i]Watch it for the fights only... Lots of fun to watch Tony Jaa perform, he's quite an athlete, but the movie's lacking in most other areas. The "let's show it again from a different angle" wears out its welcome early on. [b]4 [u]Dong jing gong lüe / Tokyo Raiders[/u][/b] (Ma, 2000) [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/thejokers21/tokyoraiders.jpg[/img] An OK action film with an OK plot with OK fight scenes. Just a bunch of OK. But it has Tony Leung and Kou Shibasaki, so it gets the edge towards recommendable. [b]3.5 [u]Northfork[/u][/b] (Polish, 2003) [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/thejokers21/northfork.jpg[/img] At times quite pretentious, yet hilarious and somewhat sweet at others. It certainly never looks bad, though. The lush cinematography is worth the price of a rental, methinks. [i]Iron Giant[/i] didn't get a [b]5[/b] from me, but I didn't want to be hassled endlessly about it. And since no one reads these, I figured I'd tell the truth here. I honestly don't see what's so special about the movie. It was just a basic family film in my eyes. Nothing really sets it apart. It even basically lifts its plot straight out of [i]E.T.
