Kit V The five stars here are for Thelma Todd, if like me you are nuts about Thelma its a must watch. But on the other hand, if you are looking for 1930s sophisticated movie making it may just disappoint. Miss Todd is, and always will be, the most beautiful, charismatic, ice creme blonde the movies have ever known. At least to my eyes and many others. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Gangsters on the High Seas--A different kind of piracy!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of those movies you find in the dollar bin or on oldies.com. I'm sure it can be watched for free on imdb.com. Not a bad movie for being 78 years old. About a Harvard Quarterback who goes to work for his rich girlfriends dad, the dad wants him to collect valuable stock from a old lady in return for a worthless stock, he won't gets fired and he's out for revenge, so he starts rum running on the high seas, Pirating the Dads Liquor and then selling it back to him. Its not bad something to fill a void. 3 stars. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member An OK movie that's worth watching if you like movies from this time period or are a Chester Morris fan. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Fine old classic, very interesting to see Chester Morris, director Roland West and Thelma Todd together. Morris and West were good friends, apparently West confessed to Morris on his death bed that he was responsible for murdering his girlfriend Thelma Todd in 1935, only a few years after this film was made. As a film it is good, great pacing, nothing great but a solid early B movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
