Steve D Films like this show why Hamil never became the star he should have been. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/14/23 Full Review Cutter75 Found this for free on YouTube was fun seeing Mark Hamill and Annie Potts so young Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review John R Although it features one of the ugliest corvettes you'll ever see it's a sweet coming of age story with decent character development. It is kinda hard to believe that Annie Potts had trouble making it as a hooker in las Vegas but I suppose they wanted to preserve her innocence. It's better sweeter than you run of the mill teen comedy from this era. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/11/23 Full Review Roy V I first watch this in 1977 or '78 when I was 11 12 years old. For a 12-year-old Latino Kid everything about it was fabulous! I'm presently in the middle of it and everything about it is slow and earnestly methodical. I'll see it through simply for the Nostalgia. Oh how I missed the 70s! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review ChrisCSH Is "Corvette Summer" a great film, absolutely not, It's actually a pretty bad film but for someone who is a big car enthusiast the film can bring some fun and escapism for a couple hours. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/13/22 Full Review bill t A bit of a surprising movie until the movie's totally unsatisfying climax. The movie stars Mark Hamill, fresh out of Star Wars, as a kid who refurbishes a dream corvette from the junk heap, only to have it stolen and taken to Vegas. He shows up there and begins looking, as well as falling in love with a dime store hooker. Quite honestly, the best part of this is, not the cars, but the great shots of late 70s Vegas seen here. Lots of hotels and casinos not in existence any more, and the insane neon they had. The movie hums along sort of, until it's boring ending. Frank Rich TIME Magazine As long as one doesn't demand too much of it, Corvette Summer delivers a very pleasant two hours of escape. Jul 25, 2007 Full Review Time Out One of Hollywood's better 'growing up' movies. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times Miss Potts may well be a gifted comedienne, but Mr. Robbins never lets her relax enough for the talent to show. Too often, he strains his actors' enthusiasm to the breaking point. Rated: 2/5 May 9, 2005 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...it's impossible to completely dismiss the film due to the pervasively agreeable feel with which it's been infused. Rated: 2.5/4 May 23, 2021 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Hamill has jokingly suggested that perhaps the movie would have done better had it been named Car Wars; he's probably not wrong. Rated: 2/4 Jul 13, 2019 Full Review TV Guide All in all a very funny movie with enough solid, believable story to take it beyond the realm of teenage summer fare.
