Three brothers -- Marvin (Daniel Stern), Bobby (Patrick Dempsey) and Buddy (Arye Gross) -- are asked by their father, Fred (Alan Arkin), to drive a 1954 Cadillac from Michigan to Florida in time for their mother's 50th birthday. The brothers haven't seen each other for years, and being cooped up in an old car for hours prompts endless squabbling. The topics range from choosing a radio station to serious grudges as the brothers try to survive the drive and maybe even bond in the process.

Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times There is something deadening about the kind of formula picture where you know with absolute certainty what is going to happen, and how, and why. Cory G I picked this movie up at a thrift shop for 25 cents on video cassette. I had never heard of it and critic reviews versus the audience reviews were polarizing I had to see for myself who was right? The critics or the audience reviews? I'm 5/5 on this movie. I thought it was a great period film and if you have siblings it's a great film that you can bond over the differing sibling dynamics but all come together as family in the end. I loved Daniel Stern in a serious roll, I usually think of him in Home Alone, but he's a good serious actor; this film harkened back to his roll in the Barry Levinson film Diner from the early 80s to me. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is a gem. It's a bit predictable, but for me it hits a sweet spot of nostalgia. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent acting. Surprisingly funny with a great soundtrack. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A fun road trip movie. (I liked the car better than the movie) lol Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member A rare gem which I happened to catch on TV years ago. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Kind of cute, but more yelling than actual plot :P Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
