Homicide detective Melanie Hudson (Joan Severance) and her partner -- and ex-boyfriend -- Nathan Leonard (Anthony John Denison) are chasing a serial killer: a modern-day Jack the Ripper who specializes in slitting women's throats. After investigating Connor Ashcroft (John Allen Nelson), a senator's son, the evidence comes up short, and Hudson agrees to meet Ashcroft in a social setting. Meanwhile, Leonard, still very much in love with his partner, is worried Hudson is being lured into a trap.
