Criss Cross basks in noir’s proclivity to deconstruct the flawed nature of man, powered by Lancaster’s innate charm finally that’s confronted with its own limitations. Go to Full Review

Without any sort of meaty dynamic between the two leads, the movie finds itself in search of something to plug that gap. Go to Full Review

Steve D 04/01/2024 Hard to care about any of it. See more Bill T 03/25/2023 Really fun noir that has Burt Lancaster as a dumb lunk (Note: He plays these extraoridinarily well) that returns to town and again, gets mixed up into the wrong sort of crowd. They plan a heist from an armoured vehicle, which... NOONE HAS EVER DONE, IT'S TOO RISKY. Lots of great usage of flashback, narration, and the noir tropes we've all come to know and love. This was a lovely relief from many days of blah movie watching. See more Georgan G 03/13/2023 A classic film noir. The 3 main characters are played brilliantly and the plot keeps you guessing until the end. Great atmosphere. This is an old film that is worth watching. See more paul d @PaulusLoZebra 10/11/2021 Robert Siodomak's Criss Cross is a great movie. True to the films of its day, and especially to the best noirs of that era, this is a taut and compact story. It's got several lifetimes of emotion and back-story that fuels Burt Lancaster's obsession with Yvonne De Carlo. Dan Duryea is an expert and creepy villain, as usual, and the movie is full of wonderful character actors. The sights and sounds of LA are another fine element to the story, adding texture and realism to the steamy and intense scenes. There is a great score and excellent cinematography, with the aerial scenes and occasional angled camera work as highlights. See more william d @acsdoug 08/12/2021 Excellent noir from the 40s. If you're a fan of the genre I'm confident you will like it too. He's not credited, but I swear that's Tony Curtis dancing with Yvonne DeCarlo in the bar. Lilly Munster was quite a good looking lady in her day. Not a very good actress though. See more 12/31/2020 One of the greatest film noirs ever made. Everything about it is absolute perfection.
