If Critters was a sorry replay of Gremlins, then Main Course anticipates in many ways the barn-burning Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Go to Full Review

It lacks all of the style and sense of fun of the original Critters and has no reason for existence -- aside, of course, from the fact that Critters is a brand name and this is the current model. Go to Full Review

The best Easter horror film is Mick Garris' Critters 2: The Main Course. Go to Full Review

Amusingly, the Crite death scenes have grown more goopy and destructive, though the potential for greater showdowns and onslaughts is sadly unfulfilled. Go to Full Review

It isn't quite as adept at balancing the yuks and nyuks as the first film. Go to Full Review

Wes 04/12/2022 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 See more Mania I. @TheMania510 Nov 2 A camping fun send-off of the movie Gremlins. It's a lot of fun practical effects are pretty decent. The acting is okay for what the film is. So not to be taken seriously and you will enjoy it. See more Nick O Jun 13 More crites! And they’re bigger, hairier and hungrier. Throw in a dash of Eddie Deezen and you got one hell of a classic monster movie sequel! See more r96 s Apr 23 'Critters 2: The Main Course' is more of the same, which is good for a sequel of this type. I wasn't anticipating much but it's solid enough, if you like the first flick then I'd be surprised if this disappointed you. I did rate the original, so go figure. Scott Grimes is the standout, in my opinion, from the first release, here he takes a bit more of a back seat (if still the lead) as it's practically an ensemble. Liane Alexandra Curtis does well, as does M. Emmet Walsh replacement Barry Corbin. There aren't any cast issues, that's for sure. I felt like we got more of the titular characters in this, which is something I wanted. The effects still look very good, like last time I do enjoy the little pieces of dialogue that the critters get; especially the 'uh ohs'. Elsewhere, we get added blood and nudity for this follow-up... Now to see if lightning struck thrice with the third installment, which features the film debut of a Hollywood great. See more James B Mar 24 It's basically the same as the last but I do prefer this one of the original just because it's more memorable other than that it's the same as the original. See more Johnathon W @Hoppynsc 11/02/2024 Fun sequel that actually improves on the original, providing more Critter fun while expanding on the bounty hunters. The cast is solid but not extraordinary, while director Mick Garris delivers a fun movie with plenty of fun Critter action (the use of subtitles is used to hilarious effect). The bounty hunters are furthered explored, especially their constant need to change shape, which also brings some laughs. While not perfect, remains a lot of fun. See more Read all reviews
