Audience Member Pretty creepy but shame about the unanswered ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review steve d Adequately made except for the terrible sound quality but the story is boring and there is no reason to care about anything going on. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review martin a An interesting and creepy horror, a father and husband bullies his wife and abuses his daughter who he has sexual attractions for, After prolonged abuse, they decide to kill him by overdosing him with sleeping tablets, he then fakes his death and they dispose of the body, problem is he then comes back to punish them, a very sad ending, and although ,a well-acted good film, it could have done so much more with the ending. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Michael Gough stars as the cruel patriarch of an affluent British family. He's particularly cruel to his daughter (Sharon Gurney), so she conspires with her mother to murder him. Things don't go too well. This fairly slow, atmospheric thriller is very clearly indebted to "Diabolique", but unfortunately has a needlessly convoluted climax that really dulls it's impact. Gough is, as always, terrific and it's worth watching for his performance alone. Not to be confused with "Crucible of Terror" which was released in the same year. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member She has everything she wants. A successful political influencer has two women that reside with him, one woman is older and a mother figure to the young female. The two women plot to kill the politician so they can move on with their lives; unfortunately, after the deed is done they will find it hard to keep it covered up. "What the hell are you doing?" Viktors Ritelis, director of episodes from the television series Vendetta, The Expert, Home and Away, A Country Practice, and GP, delivers Crucible of Horror. The storyline for this picture is just average with few good horror elements. The acting is mediocre even for this genre. "I hope I'm not a bother." I came across this on Netflix a couple weeks ago and thought it would be an interesting movie to add to the queue. Overall, it was a below average addition to the genre with few redeeming sequences. I recommend skipping this. "Let's kill him." Grade: C- Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the finest Michael Gough movies.
