Not because it was badly made, but I can see no reasoning behind even making this movie. Did the parents give approval? Were they consulted? I hope so. The people who did this in real life are seriously mentally disturbed. Rationale might tell you that if you had issues with your ex girlfriend having lied about her past multitude of partners, she would be the one you would go after. Since it was a psychopath with severe anger issues, he goes and takes it out on the poor lad. Totally effed up. Just plain wrong.
