Tara Brady Irish Times Cub is characterised by terrific performances (especially from the pre-teen cast), playfully ghoulish bloodwork, and the most inventive instruments of death we've seen since the Saw franchise ran out of ideas. Rated: 3/5 Mar 7, 2016 Full Review Jonathan Romney Observer (UK) The build-up is entertainingly eccentric, and there's some ingenious booby-trappery at work among the pines, but Cub runs dry once it knuckles down to the routine bloodletting. Rated: 2/5 Aug 2, 2015 Full Review Matthew Thrift Little White Lies Not much adventure. Not much horror. Rated: 2/5 Jul 31, 2015 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh While it doesn't reinvent the wheel, it captures everything fans know and love about the slasher subgenre to deliver a stylish and ruthless freight train of fear. Rated: 5/5 Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Kat Hughes THN Cub is not your average horror film, reaching depths not previously visited in the genre. It could be seen to many as an origin tale of the likes of Jason and Michael Myers, making it a must for genre fans. Rated: 4/5 Sep 15, 2022 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See A dark, twisted ride full of terror, brutality, and ambiguity. Rated: B Jul 5, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Holland W With the exception of the dog scene I liked it very much! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Audience Member Being a former Belgian cub scout GIRL myself, who gets scared easily I may be prejudiced but this film made me almost shit myself (or at least binge-eat popcorn during the scariest 'Kai-involved'-scenes). Nevertheless I did find the acting skills of the YOUNG actors in particular (the 'older' ones I already had knowledge of their talent from) very 'believable' and 'natural'. The movie braught back many memories of my own cub-scout-experiences, especially flash-backs to 'haunted-tours' at night in the woods (which were a regular each summer camp) but - luckily for me - released me from the ongoing terrors and nightmares these 'games' caused during adulthood, resulting in an aversion for camping in 'the woods' (which I love): things could've gotten worse, you know ;-). But the realistic personalizations of an astranged Belgian kid (and his cub-scout-'mates') going on summercamp really made my hope for a new generation of Belgian actors rise again. Cudo's to the kid-actors! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie it not Fantasy it Base on Realistic But i Can't Find Something Make sense Enough Everythings is Broken Character Brain is Broken too. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member As a film, "Cub" was well-written and well-produced, but has spots in which the plot could have been better fleshed-out. Ultimately, I could see a prequel, a sequel, or a reboot in its future. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Well-made "slasher in the woods" type of film that wouldn't have the guts to be as brutal, if it were made in the States. One of the bestow its type that I've seen in awhile. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Passable scares in the French woods, but it's all been done many times before.
