Teresa E I think that it is a great family film. The baddie is a real baddie and plays the part well. You have the heart break and hope that the family will succeed in saving the farm. Dakota is a great dog, may be more of the dog could be seen. I enjoyed the film and would watch again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/20/23 Full Review Hugh Tremendous movie had me frolicking in my seat for and hour and 30 minutes, hooray what a movie applaud due for the director,💯💯💯 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/23 Full Review Aaron C quite possibly one of the worst movies ever. We watch a ton of kids movies and this one has horrendous acting. the dialogue and story are just unbearable. I can't believe people actually took the time to make this movie. Our family is dumber to have watched it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review christopher c. m A combat dog of a late soldier retires to his partner's widow. A widow who is threatened to lose the farm to the bank. Why? Because melodrama, because the soldier didn't get paid or had any kind of insurance to help pay bills. Plus for a farm, I don't recall anything that paid the bills for a farm, crops, livestock? Nope! Melodrama and hit all the farm clichés. Plus besides the needless melodrama, the movie has unlikable and really annoying characters. Lastly, Dakota, the title character, is BARELY in the movie! Considering the dog is the only likable character. It's all about the farm and nothing to do with the farm. It was like some bean counter studio guy ordered the dog put in the last minute. This is a joyless movie that kids will hate. Just because it's a family movie don't make it entertaining for kids. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Brian L I'm a sucker for a good family movie, but that is not what this is. The story was just ridiculous. It felt more like the conflict was making the dog a part of the story. The existence of the dog could have been deleted and the movie wouldn't have changed much. It was cheesy early on, but got much worse Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/03/22 Full Review Heather V Predictable story line. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/19/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Ordoña Los Angeles Times It means to be about a struggling family saved by a brave dog. What most viewers will agree on is that it needed more dog. Apr 1, 2022 Full Review Bradley Gibson Film Threat For a family film with after-school-special vibes, it lands exactly where it should. Rated: 7/10 Jul 15, 2022 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Johnny Harrington's script is a little too paint-by-numbers to land a strong impact. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Jul 1, 2022 Full Review Tara McNamara Common Sense Media Dakota the dog can't quite fill the paw prints of Lassie, Benji, or Rin Tin Tin -- there's just not enough warm fuzzies in the fur of this Belgian Malinois. Rated: 2/5 Apr 7, 2022 Full Review Pat Padua Spectrum Culture What better way to honor veterans than with a dog movie that makes Beethoven look like The Magnificent Ambersons. Rated: 17/100 Apr 7, 2022 Full Review Louisa Moore Screen Zealots An unabashedly corny family movie that features second-rate performances, choppy editing, and dialogue that is written at a 4th grade reading level. This film is lousy, even if it has its heart in the right place. Apr 5, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
