Michael Wilmington Chicago Tribune Funny, scary, appealing and bizarre. Rated: 3/4 May 8, 2013 Full Review John Hartl Seattle Times Filled with characters who are more frustrated than ennobled, Dance Me Outside deftly turns a number of narrative conventions upside down. Rated: 3/4 May 8, 2013 Full Review Michael Sauter Entertainment Weekly Dance Me Outside nevertheless stays compelling, thanks to its cast of appealing unknowns. You haven't seen anyone quite like them before -- and that's meant as high praise. Rated: B May 8, 2013 Full Review Dan Webster Spokesman-Review (Washington) Dance Me Outside offers an inside look at a culture that, all too often, has been either ignored or portrayed with halo-wearing political correctness. Tim R If you truly understand indigenous contemporary life you will realize this film is a classic. The soundtrack is compelling and the performances are memorable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review shaina a classic. you'll quickly sympathize with the characters in this tale, and eagerly wait to see what happens next. it's more slice-of-life than action, but there's plenty of that too. you'll laugh and cry when watching this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/23 Full Review Audience Member As Native myself, I thought it was great. The story of Little Margaret is a sobering reminder that thousands of Native women are going missing/being murdered at an exponential rate and their families see little to no justice. As of this writing, another's body was just found near, again, the Red River, which has been the site of MANY Native bodies being found. Then there's Adam Beach (wakka wakka!!!!) and Ryan Black (ditto!), most reviews never discuss the two side stories---Silas' sister's marriage to a white lawyer and her past with Michael GreyEye's character. When they take the lawyer into the woods for a naming ceremony is one of the funniest parts of the film! It shows the reality of reserve/reservation life, that it's not always sad poverty porn. We cry, but we laugh, we love, we have a good time, as well as the bad times. I AM THE WOLVERINE!!!!! AWOOOOOO!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this movie...... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to watch this movie for a class...the acting was horrible and the dialogue was something to be desired. I think it had potential and failed.
