Barry Craig (Allyn Joslyn), a writer of detective fiction, takes it upon himself, with the aid of his wife, Jane (Evelyn Keyes), to solve a series of puzzling murders. The first killing takes place at a photography studio where Julie (Anita Louise), Jane's strangely foresightful friend, works. After a stubborn socialite is found dead before her photo shoot, everyone starts pointing fingers -- including Inspector Clinton (Frank Craven) -- at the obvious suspects, yet nothing is at is seems.
