Audience Member Honestly I would have turned this after about 2.5 mins in. However I wasn't in my own home and that wasn't an option. Absolutely THE WORST movie of all time. Acting was horrid, writing was juvenile, and completely unbelievable scenarios!! straight garbage and what a waste of your life you will steal from yourself if you allow anyone or you yourself decide to see how bad it is yourself. Please go stare at a wall for two hours. Much more entertaining and realistic. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member We watch a lot of movies. All types. Including the "Made just to entertain the 3-7 age group" B movies... And this movie has the worst, the absolute worst, most pulpy dialogue I have had to listen to in a long time. Action scenes were okay, sequence of the movie made some sense but not a lot, believability of the characters was non-existent, character development was non-existent... and because the "chain of command" structure of their police force seemed to be so irrelevant / nonexistent in the movie - I had to look up how LAPD works because I was so confused. So overall, 0.5 out of 5 stars - A half point because the antagonist dad was Ricky Bobby's father so it at least made me think of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby for a minute. PSA - If you like Shawn Ashmore, please don't watch this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The camera work and musical score are impressive, but are outweighed by a terrible script and lazy acting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Strong cast, interesting description, 3 ½ stars on Netflix?? The plot, though predictable, could have worked, and Cole and the Dark Movie Ashmore do the best they can. Richard Harmon gets to do very little., which is a shame. Beyond that, the sets just look like something fished up for a bare-budget indie flick. I was ok with the idea of it being schlock, but it is omg so very bad. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible. The worst movie I've ever finished. Bad acting, horrible fist fight scene. Illogical and unbelievable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Not believable. Story line, acting, editing cinematography all mediocre. Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com The attempt to create a 'serious' anti-misogyny message through this shallow, improbable material -- directed and written by two men, with no complex female characters onscreen -- is maybe the worst part of it. Rated: 1/4 Jun 12, 2020 Full Review Cody Dericks Next Best Picture At nearly every chance, “Darkness Falls” makes the least interesting and most unfortunate choice, resulting in a film that’s uninteresting and certainly a choice. Rated: 2/10 Jul 5, 2022 Full Review MontiLee Stormer MovieReelist.com If you want a better Lin Shaye horror movie, I recommend Room for Rent (2019). Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 28, 2020 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror Darkness Falls is like if a bot wrote a cop thriller, only even less entertaining because reading it in a little Twitter thread would be much quicker than enduring this dross, which takes 84 minutes(!) off your life. Jun 26, 2020 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall The actors do what they can with the corny dialog, which continually states the blindingly obvious... Rated: 1.5/5 Jun 22, 2020 Full Review Peter Gray The AU Review Despite seeming investigation on this particular type of genre, [writer Giles] Daoust and director Julien Seri aren't able to lift this cloddish thriller to the B-grade sensibility it wants to settle for.
